EARTH DAY AT PIPESTONE COMMUNITY GARDENS: All three sections of the Whitehall Elementary School fourth grade ventured west to the Pipestone Community Gardens on Thursday, April 20 to help get the gardens prepared for spring planting.Some some of their fourth graders even planted early crops such as snow peas. Soil moisture measuring systems hold major potential benefits for ranchers. For over a century, Jefferson Valley and Boulder Valley ranchers have faced some tough questions about irrigation, and most of those questions were answered with guesswork tempered with experience and knowledge.
