Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks: Week of 6/11/2025

Summer is off to a great start! The Whitehall Community Library already has over 100 registered for Summer Reading online. Monday opened the in-person registrations, so patrons may sign up either way. To sign up online, go to our website at http://www.mywhlmontana.com. If you would rather register in person, stop by the library and pick up the form at the front desk. Anyone can sign up for summer reading, as there is no age limit.

A new feature of the library calendars is the program descriptions on the back. These tell what each program is about, age appropriateness, time, and program length (once, monthly, weekly).

Starting Thursday, June 12th, at 3 PM, the library is starting a beginning quilting class for adults. There is no cost, and the library will provide all the supplies needed. If you would like to come, please call the desk at 287-3763 so we have enough supplies for everyone. This is also when any quilter may finish projects, start new ones, and make some new quilting friends. We have plenty of tables and outlets in the basement, so come down!

Countdown2kindergarten will begin on Wednesday, June 11, at 2 PM. This set of adventures is for those beginning kindergarten in the fall who want to explore different skills needed for a first school experience. If you want to bring your little one, please call the library and save your spot.

Our Kids Quilting program has moved to 9 AM on Friday mornings. This will give us a longer time to sew before Story Time starts at 10:30 AM. Our young quilters are finishing projects and planning their next ones, so new members are always welcome.

The Stitch n Fun Embroidery class begins on Tuesday, June 17th, for elementary-age children who would like to learn different types of needlework. Their first project will be unicorn pillows. Let us know if you are coming so we can have a unicorn for you!

The complete summer calendar is available at the front desk or online at our webpage http://www.mywhlmontana.com. Summer Feeding starts on Monday, June 16th, from 11 AM - 1 PM. Lunches are free for anyone 18 and younger. Menus are available to check out and see what's for lunch that week.

Thank you to everyone who has been concerned about the Library's funding. Currently, we haven't taken any cuts to our budget. It means a lot that so many of you have asked. The staff is in great spirits and excited to start our summer programs!
