CHRISTMAS IN JUNE: As a 1999 Christmas present stocking stuffer, Chris and Sandy Carey gave each of their four children a raffle ticket for a 1988 Corvette offered asd the grand prize by WestMont, a home health provider headquartered in Helena. Guess who won? Tressa Carey, age 16, not only won, but was the second Whitehall area person in two years to win the raffled WestMont Corvette. Last year, Wally Madsen won a 1967 StingRay Corvette. Madsen kept his Corvette, but Tressa will be selling hers and plans to use the money to buy a more practical car, put some money aside for college, and share some of the money with siblings.

After nearly 40 years in Whitehall, the Fish, Wildlife, and Parks sign shop has closed its doors. When Jennie McArthur and Carol Elshire closed the door at the FWP Sign Shop at the end of the day on Wednesday, May 31, they closed the door on an era. McArthur and Elshire won't paint any more FWP signs, and the sign shop won't open its doors again.
