Where Are the Fish Pond Fish?

Many people have been stopping by the historic fishpond in the center of Whitehall to see the trout that are normally there by the Memorial Day weekend. However, this summer the pond is dry and the fish are missing. Why?

The Town of Whitehall’s decision to chlorinate the water has made it impossible to stock the pond this summer unless a fresh water source can be provided for the fish. Trout cannot tolerate any level of chlorine.

The Whitehall Rotary Club has been looking into various options to make stocking the pond a possibility for this summer.
