• Global commerce continues to be disrupted when Danish seamen go on strike over their wages on September 1. The Danish seamen's decision to go on strike follows similar moves by seamen in China and throughout the British Empire.

• Hermann Gšring is hospitalized in the psychiatric ward of a Swedish hospital after assaulting a nurse on September 1. Gšring, who was in Sweden to overcome a morphine addiction, would later serve as chief advisor to Adolf Hitler and commander of the Luftwaffe during World War II.
