A group of Whitehall community residents met with the Whitehall School Board on Wednesday, August 30; they requested the board adopt a goal of improving school spirit and sportsmanship as one of the board's top goals for the 2000-2001 school year.
WHS Organizer of the Week: Civic & Service Organizations. These Whitehall groups do a world of good for Whitehall residents and others. Raising money for the ambulance, sponsoring youth rodeo activities, shaping young lives through Scouting, providing food for those in need, sponsoring civic and business events, working towards an outdoor historical production, preserving and promoting our history, and helping the Whitehall education system are examples of how clubs and organizations in Whitehall virtually every day make our community a better place.
WHS Volunteer/Good Neighbor of the Week: They. They collect food for the needy, they cheer young rodeo contestants from the crow's nest, they donate their time and equipment to our youth, they volunteer at the library, they paint murals, they contribute their energy and ideas, they help clean the community, they lead our youth, and without them Whitehall would be a far different place. "They" are volunteers, and "They" are an invaluable asset, and the catalyst behind our Whitehall community spirit, pride and progress.
WHS Athlete of the Week: Our Athletes. A Baseball player. A U-13 girls soccer team. The Whitehall rodeo team. Six Whitehall women bowlers. A Whitehall youth Baseball team. Two collections of baseball All-Stars. A 10-year old steer rider. A horseshoe pitcher. Sprinter who took three medals at the Big Sky Games. O-Mok-See winners., County fair All-Around Champs. All have been "Athlete of the Week" and demonstrate the variety of athletic and competitive talent in Whitehall.
