BLM: Stage I Fire Restrictions in Madison County

Bureau of Land Management officials rescinded Stage 2 fire restrictions on Sept. 18 and are now implementing Stage I fire restrictions on BLM-administered lands in Madison County.

Under Stage 1 fire restrictions, the following activities are prohibited:

• Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire or campfire except within a developed recreation site. Visitors can also use portable cooking stoves or other devices that use liquified fuels and can be turned on and off. These devices can only be used in an area clear of flammable vegetation.
