Ledger Looking Back: October 11, 2000

Local Whitehall students will participate in a risk survey. The Whitehall School Board approved participation of Whitehall students in the 2001 Montana Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). The Board also unanimously approved the participation of Whitehall grades 7-12 students in the youth risk survey.

WHS Creative Leader of the Week: NICK GALLAGHER. Nick, Student Council President, is honored this week for his willingness to do many council activities and for bringing assemblies back "to life." Nick, a senior, was nominated by WHS Principal Randy Cline. He is the son of Neil and Lee Ann Gallagher and has plans to attend the University of Montana to study drama. Nick enjoys football and playing drums.

WHS Student of the Week: KYLE MCCOLLUM. Kyle is honored for his work in the PAD government class. Teacher Terry Kelly says, "Kyle does an outstanding job in class. He works hard at his studies and is a great listener." Kyle is the son of Doug and Valerie McCollum and plans to attend the University of Montana to study business. He enjoys snowboarding and skateboarding.

WHS Athlete of the Week: DAVID ROGERS. Trojans senior football player and team leader David Rogers has played strongly on both sides of the ball and has punted well all year for Whitehall. David earned honors for his strong performance over the last two weeks, including a notable two-touchdown pass against Jefferson. He is the son of David and Joan Rogers.
