Skunks invade Whitehall yards.
To the year of the drought, the year of the fires, and the first year of a new millennium, you can add this in Whitehall: 2000 is the Year of the Skunk, as skunks have invaded the town. Possibly fueled by a lack of food in the dry creek bottoms that skirt the edges of Whitehall, skunks have waddled in large numbers to Whitehall yards, alleyways, and porches in search of food. FWP wardens have stated "this is the worst year for skunks I've ever had in my 11 years as warden." The skunks had been so bad that the residents even had an honorary Whitehall Skunk Patrol...
