The Whitehall Ledger was informed by the Southwest Montana Federal Credit Union in Whitehall of a current scam targeting patrons.
A “bank” calls the customer, saying that their money is not “safe at its current location, and they are offering a safer alternative. The caller also advises the customer not to disclose the real reason for wiring money to the bank, but to state it is for a family member.
