Paul Hiniker,60, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on April 10, 2026.
Paul was born in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Robert and Beverly Hiniker. The family moved steadily west from Minnesota to Missoula, Montana. One home fondly remembered was in Rapid City, South Dakota. Paul spoke of the fun he had with his brothers and sisters, exploring and playing outside all day long.
Paul was employed in the home building industry throughout his life, first with his dad and brothers, and later with his own business. Paul worked on and built homes throughout Missoula, the Bitterroot Valley, and finally in Whitehall.
Paul loved wide open views, camping and exploring in the Big Hole Valley, Farmall tractors, a good prank, and puns.
Although these abilities weren't his favorite, he was a skilled draftsman and creator of picture frames, coat racks, serving trays, and knick-knack shelves.
Paul is survived by his wife Cynthia Hiniker, daughter Susie Little, husband Joey, son Paul Hiniker, stepdaughter Kim Cuddeback, husband Josh, stepdaughter April Medsker, Mother Beverly Hiniker, siblings Heidi (Jay) Mills, David Hiniker (Kristy Kramer), Jane Hiniker, Lee (Lori) Hiniker, and Chuck Hiniker. Cynthia's siblings are Sue Pederson, Kris (Diane) Sims, Brenda (Ross) Corneil, Jason (Leslie) Sims, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul is the "Proud Grandpa" to Ellie, Kloie, Seelie Cuddeback, and Emmitt "Doc" Little.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
