The Jefferson Valley Community Foundation (JVCF) held its annual fundraiser on May second at the Whitehall Community Center. By all accounts, not only in terms of funds, but also in terms of the gross amount raised, it was in excess of $45,000, and in terms of community attendance, the evening was a tremendous success.
The board of directors of JVCF would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Jefferson Valley Trustees, Community Builders, and Opportunity Pioneers. Without their generous contributions, both monetary and physical, there would have been no event. Also, the event donors and event volunteers donated all sorts of valuable items and gave generously of their time and talents, and all of these are much appreciated.
The Whitehall FFA willingly performed many valuable tasks, including, but not limited to, bringing and removing the stage, setting up and taking down chairs, serving dinner, working the live auction, working the silent auction, and helping patrons with their purchases. The FFA group was polite, hard working, generous with their time, and displayed the best of their chapter, school, and community, and the Board of JVCF cannot thank them enough for their tremendous contributions.
A portion of the night's proceeds will help grow the JVCF endowment fund. This permanent source of support allows the Foundation to continue providing grants to local non-profits, community projects, and future opportunities. Your proceeds from Saturday night's event will also help establish our new scholarship fund for Whitehall High School seniors pursuing careers in the trades.
A very philanthropic local family kindly offered $15,000 toward local trade-based scholarships if JVCF reaches $15,000 in gross revenue from the event. That goal was attained, and the scholarship money will be available. What a wonderful, kind, community-based gift, and JVCF is so thankful and appreciative.
The Jefferson Valley Community Foundation is so thankful to our tremendously kind community and promises that all funds will return to Whitehall through grants and scholarships! Thank you ALL!!!!
