Whitehall Class of 2026 Bring in Awards & Accolades

Whitehall High School graduated 43 seniors at the Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Many of these seniors received scholarships and accolades, which were announced at the ceremony.

Dorothy Shaw Memorial Scholarship: Dorothy Shaw bequeathed money to WHS to establish the Dorothy Shaw Memorial Scholarship. This award recognizes WHS seniors for their academic achievement, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher and completing 15 credits in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, or Foreign Language. Awardees: Miles McLean and Lexi Stratton.

Barrick Golden Sunlight Scholarship: $5,000. Awarded to a WHS graduate accepted into an approved school, with selection based upon academic performance, leadership/citizenship, and career aspirations. Preference to those entering an engineering or mining-related field. Awardee: Dixon Koenig.

Tia Kober Scholarship: $500, renewable. Tia Kober was an educator in the Whitehall School District for 38 years; the elementary gymnasium is named in her honor. Ms. Kober and her family support WHS graduates pursuing careers in education, medicine, or STEM. Awardee: Lexi Stratton.

Sandra Harper Hunt Memorial Scholarship: $1,000. Ron Hunt, a 1954 graduate of WHS, bequeathed funds in 2017 in honor of his late wife, Sandra Harper Hunt. This annual scholarship recognizes community service and volunteerism, as Mrs. Hunt was involved in her community by donating her time to serve others. Awardee: Jaeden Aragon.

Margaret McGee Scholarship: $700. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from WHS pursuing a degree in Education at an accredited college or University, selected by the Whitehall School committee. based on educational standing and financial need. Awardee: Savannah Fowler.

Whitehall Country Store Scholarship: $5,000 over 2 semesters. Scholarships, provided by the Whitehall Country Store, meant to honor academics and outside activities while also focusing on career goals. Awardees: Jaeden Aragon, Payton DuBois, Savannah Fowler, Addisyn Gray, Miles McLean, and Lexi Stratton.

Sacry Scholarship: $1,000. Established to honor Carroll and Cora Sacry in recognition of their and their descendants' influence at WHS for more than 60 years. Awardees must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, three years of sports, or two years in sports and one in band. Awardees: Miles McLean and Julia Hoagland.

Magris Talc Scholarship: $1,000. Magris Talc, a strong supporter of students and the WHS community through various activities, awards this scholarship to a graduating WHS senior. Awardee: Kameron Hartman.

Jefferson Valley Community Foundation Scholarship: $2,000. Established to cultivate a lifelong commitment to volunteerism, this award empowers young leaders to reinvest their talents back into the heart of Montana through the spirit of service. Awarded for tuition or related expenditures, the scholarship supports those who demonstrate a genuine dedication to their neighbors and their future. Awardees: Rylee Randel and Kieth Wilson.

Jack and Olive Smith Memorial Scholarship: Whitehall natives Jack and Olive (George) Smith raised their family of five sons in Whitehall and were avid supporters of the community and the Whitehall Schools. This scholarship remembers their great work ethic and dedication to their community. Awardees: Addisyn Gray, Dixon Koenig, Miles McLean, Rebecca Olsen, and Rylee Randel.

Whitehall Booster Club Scholarship: $250 - $500. Multiple awards will be given to seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher who have participated in at least 3 extracurricular activities. Awardees: Jaeden Aragon ($250), Kameron Hartman ($250), Julia Hoagland ($250), Lexi Stratton ($500), and Miles McLean ($500).

Whitehall FFA Alumni Scholarship: $150 - $700. Awardees: Miles McLean ($700), Zane Downey ($700), Rylee Randel ($300), Hannah Frazier ($150), and Addisyn Gray ($150).

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:

Jaeden Aragon: Jefferson DUI Taskforce Jr. Member Scholarship ($1000); Montana POW/MIA Scholarship ($1,000).

Addisyn Gray: Midland University Presidential Scholarship.

Kameron Hartman: Payne Family Impact Scholarship ($3,500); University of Montana Academic Achievement Scholarship ($4,000).

Dixon Koenig: MSU Bozeman Premier Scholarship ($3,000 per year).

Miles McLean: 4H Scholarship ($2,000), Montana FFA Foundation Scholarship ($500).

Landen Miotke: Valley City State Academic and Athletic Scholarship ($10,000)

Lexi Stratton: MSU STEM/Healthcare scholarship ($6,000 over 4 years), MSU Bozeman Premier Scholarship ($16,000 over 4 years), Madison-Jefferson 4H Scholarship ($2,000), Voice of Democracy Scholarship ($150), Elks Lodge MVP Scholarship ($1,000), Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply Scholarship ($1,000), Temple Sloan Family Scholarship ($36,000 over 4 years), MSU Bozeman Montana Treasure State First Generation Scholarship ($6,000 over 4 years).

Class of 2026, the Whitehall School District is beyond proud of you all and glad to celebrate your high school graduation. To watch you grow and achieve over the years has been a tremendous joy.
