WAITING: Michael Drake of Whitehall sits on the edge of the empty community pool. Michael and other Whitehall volunteers haul broken slabs of concrete away from the community swimming pool, hoping to have the facility open soon.
Six Whitehall non-profit organizations or groups have submitted applications for grant funding through the Jefferson County Metal Mines Grant program, and final decisions on grant funds could be made as early as August 2001.
