My name is McKinley Murphy, and I will be a freshman at Ennis High School this fall. I like a lot of different things about 4-H. I enjoy showing my goats & showing them off because I raise them. I also like doing indoor projects and sharing my knowledge about them with the judges. Seeing my friends and making new friends is one of my favorite things about being involved in 4-H.
The coolest thing I have done in 4-H is get into and win Round Robin with my Dairy goat, Bean. It was super cool getting to know and learn how to show all the different animal species in Round Robin.
For 4-H, I usually show multiple goats and do indoor projects. This year, I am showing my goats, both Dairy goats and Market Breeding. I am also doing Veterinary Science and Cake Decorating.
I have done Vet Science and showed my goats for all 6 years of 4-H. I decided to try cake decorating for something new and challenging!
I really like doing Vet Science because I want to be a Veterinarian when I grow up, and learning about it helps prepare me for the future. I live on a ranch, and animals have always been something I have been interested in.
I am a member of the Cardwell Hillbillies 4-H club. I have the office of club reporter and enjoy sharing news about our club with the local newspaper.
My favorite part of 4-H is hanging out with my friends and making memories around the fairgrounds. We all choose a camper to get ready for the Fair dances and support each other in all the projects we take to the fair.
Fair memories are some of my favorite memories of the summer, and I love getting to see old friends and friends I've made along the way. I am looking forward to hopefully getting into Round Robin and would love to win that again!
I am super excited for Fair this year and can't wait for it to start!
