Jake Steven Hansen, 39

Jake Steven Hansen, 39, passed away suddenly on July 17, 2026, in Manhattan, MT. Jake was born on January 26, 1987, in Dillon, MT, to Craig and Donna (Hayden) Hansen. He was raised in Dillon and graduated from Beaverhead High School in 2005.

From an early age, Jake was known for his strong work ethic and love of the outdoors. Farming was more than a job to him- it was a way of life. Throughout his career, he worked with Hansen Ranches, INC, while also starting a custom firewood business while still in high school.

In addition to his farming work, Jake has done custom haying with Heritage Hay and founded Hansen Trucking, pursuing every opportunity with determination, reliability, and pride. Most recently, he spent the last ten years at Schutter Farms, where he took great pride in his work and was dedicated to improving the farm in every way he could. Through his strong work ethic, knowledge, and commitment, he consistently demonstrated his skills and left a lasting impact.

On July 7, 2017, Jake married the love of his life, Rebecca (Beauchamp). Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and hard work. He was a devoted husband and loving father to their two children, Vann Lee and Bonnie Rae, who were the greatest joy of his life.

Jake is survived by his wife, Rebecca; children, Vann and Bonnie; father, Craig Hansen and stepmother, Gail; five sisters, Holly, Jamie, Lisa, Lelia, and Katie; three brothers, Seth, Elmer, and Ben; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind many extended family members, cherished friends, and members of his church community whose lives were forever enriched by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Hansen, and his brother, Nick Hansen.

When he wasn't working, Jake loved spending time with his family, riding horses and dirt bikes, and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. His generosity reached far beyond his own community. Notably, he helped skillfully install a beautiful school playground in Idaho, and in the last few months/years of his life, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to helping build a new church for his faith community, Belgrade Baptist Church. He believed in serving God and others through action and gave freely of his time, talents, and heart.

Jake will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, willingness to help anyone in need, and his infectious smile. He lived with humility, worked tirelessly, loved deeply, and put others before himself. Though his time on Earth was far too short, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the example he set through his faith, hard work, and selfless service.

Jake's memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Jake's Life will be Saturday, July 25 at 1:00 P.M. at Belgrade Baptist Church. A reception will follow at River Rock Event Center.
