Whitehall Indivisible: HD75 Candidate Pat Sullivan Here Sept. 23

Join us in welcoming Pat Sullivan to our Meet & Greet this Wednesday, September 23, at 6 PM at the Whitehall School library. Pat is running for Montana Representative for House District 75, which includes the Town of Whitehall. Sullivan is running against incumbent Mark Reinschmidt, who remains unavailable.

Our guest speakers will continue through the winter, so stay tuned as dates emerge. A representative from CI-133 (Keep Montana’s Courts Nonpartisan) stopped by to hand out yard signs.

We continue to support I-194, called both “The Transparent Elections Initiative” and “The Montana Plan,” as a major first step in getting dark money out of Montana’s elections.

Retired USFS employee Grant Godbolt gave an update on the two USFS issues currently accepting public comment: the proposed repeal of the Roadless Rule, and changes to the Travel Management National Forest System to allow more off-road access. Comments can be made at regulations.gov.

The Supreme Court said NO to any post office special handling of absentee ballots. The Supreme Court also denied the current attempt to gerrymander the Missouri map, much to the relief of the election officials in Missouri, who are trying to get ballots ready. Although both outcomes were as expected, it is a relief to see the decisions finalized.

The CLARITY Act failed because concerns remain that it did little to stop corrupt politicians from amassing cryptocurrency through the political offices they hold.

In Texas, where there are new laws limiting women’s healthcare, a pregnant woman and 20-week fetus are both dead after the woman’s request for abortion due to severe preeclampsia was denied.

Internal reports about AI's uncontrollability keep emerging, as citizens and multiple AI companies call for AI industry regulation. The do-nothing congressional model andTrump’s statement of “we have to win AI” confirm that all is well in the Washington bubble.

The American colonization of Venezuela is solidifying, with no date set for Presidential elections. Despite 65 US strikes and at least 225 deaths, the US is not at war with Venezuela.

The Trump administration has acquired the “rights” for US-backed companies to Venezuelan oil still in the ground, and the US is involved in exporting Venezuelan oil, gold, and other resources. The proceeds are going into a Citibank account with no congressional oversight and no auditing.

The Venezuelan people are living under the same regime that was in place before the US captured former President Nicholas Maduro in Jan 2026 in the name of regime change. Maduro’s VP, Delcy Rodriguez, has made no changes to the situation in Venezuela.

Maduro took charge in 2013 and remained in place through two elections deemed fraudulent by international observers and the United States government. 7.6 million Venezuelans have fled the country due to the Maduro-caused humanitarian crisis that continues right now. Polymarket odds against a Venezuela election by December 31 are six to one.
