The Whitehall High School Trojan wrestling team traveled to Polson for their divisional tournament. Several years ago, Montana adopted a super-divisional format for class B-C moving from four divisions to two. The western super-division consisted of 25 teams and 250 wrestlers. On Thursday, January 19 the Trojans took on the Anaconda Copperheads and, unfortunately, were defeated. The men were wiped out 71 - 40; the ladies however held strong but lost 48-42. The Whitehall High School wrestling team traveled to Townsend to compete in the Montana B-C Duals over the weekend. This 16 team tournament included the top five teams in the state. Friday's competition consisted of pool play; Whitehall wrestled each of the members of their pool, beating Columbus 64-10, Eureka 36-34, and Red Lodge 48-24. The Montana High School Association has amended its rules for co-ops, announcing Thursday that any schools whose combined enrollment exceeds the maximum limit for a class will compete in the next class up. The decision was made at the MHSA's annual meeting on Monday, January 16 in Missoula.
