Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

For Your Information

It’s interesting that there is four of each day of the week this February. Don’t believe that it only happens every 823 years or whatever. And don’t fall for the line that if you send it on to x number of people you will receive lots of money. It’s nice to have someone to check this sort of thing out for me.

Last week I told you that Savannah Rossiter would not be returning to Cardwell for the 2017-2018 school year. Well, Patti Hanley has chosen to not renew her teaching position as third and fourth grade teacher, as well. Both of these ladies have proven to be excellent teachers and committed to the school and its students. Dawn Lewton is giving up the Clerk position and has petitioned to run for the School Board. Any of these positions can be applied for by contacting the Cardwell School at 80 Hwy 359 or calling 406-490-2473. The Clerk position includes secretary skills. There is information in the ‘Help Wanted’ column of this paper.

It must have an exciting and competitive afternoon for the Pinochle Club, hosted by Mary Gustin. Martha Hanson won first and Pinochle; Renee Webster had 1500 trump and garnered second. Low went to the only guest, Don Simmons. Don’s wife, Judy, will hostess next.

Nine of Jim Loomis’s State Wrestling Champions honored him as pallbearers for his funeral last Saturday. Some of these men are Grandpas now and their memories of Mr. Loomis remain. I’m sure if you look on facebook, you can check them out.

These are days filled with controversy and the news media fuels the situations. In Ephesians 6:10 and 11, we are given our solution. “Finally, brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” The rest of the chapter tells about the armor. It’s great reassurance.
