Between the Stacks

I can’t believe the Summer Reading program is half over this week. With the weeks flying by, I want to remind everyone that the Library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th so the staff may celebrate with their families. The Library will be open regular hours the rest of the week and all regular programs will be held at normal times.

We had quite the crew in the Library a few days ago when the Rotary Club decided to hold a volunteer night at the Library. They tidied shelves, cut out name tags for programs, put DVD’s and books away, made signs, and shredded. Thank you all for the sharing your evening to help the staff out!

This is the week for Fantasy Rangers. They will meet on Thursday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m. in the basement. This is a discussion and craft group for 5th-8th graders who want to learn more about the newest fantasy series, meet new friends, and enjoy different crafts from the fantasy world.

Bonnie Graham will be here on July 5th at 10:30 a.m. to provide a program on drawing and art for our summer readers. She will be assisted by Kerry Kraha, a well-known local artist. They will be sharing their talents with everyone and even bringing a few works of art to display.

The next Library Board meeting will be held July 20th in Boulder at 6:30 p.m. I had my dates wrong on our calendars so if you are planning to attend please note the meeting is July 20th! I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

One of the programs we are having in July is robot building. The staff asks your help in collecting any type of long or short paper tubes from wrapping paper, paper towels, toilet paper rolls, etc. Please drop these by the Library anytime and we will add them to our stash.

You may still sign up for summer reading as it is based on the number of minutes you read and not the number of books. Anyone from birth to 100 may sign up at the Library and begin collecting minutes for prizes. If you have any questions, please call us at 287-3763 or stop in!
