Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Dawson Michael Powers, 23

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dawson Michael Powers, who left this world too soon on October 31, 2026, at the tender age of 23. Born June 28, 2003, in Butte, Montana, Dawson was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend. His life, though brief, was filled with adventure, service, and love.

Dawson was a proud graduate of Whitehall High School in Whitehall, MT, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a passion for the great outdoors. Dawson was known for his adventurous spirit, often finding solace and joy in Montana's wilderness.

An avid hunter, he cherished moments spent hunting and fishing with his father, Caleb, and his brother Wyatt, creating memories he will treasure forever.

In 2022, Dawson took another noble step by enlisting in the United States Army. His dedication to serving his country testified to his strength, courage, and selflessness. Dawson's commitment to his duties and his fellow soldiers exemplified the values he held dear and the person he was-resilient, honorable, and compassionate.

Dawson's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mary Horton; his loving parents, Caleb Powers and Brandi Martin; his cherished brother, Wyatt Powers; and his devoted grandparents, Donald and Lori Powers, and Duane Dorvall.

Dawson was predeceased by his grandmother, Geri Dorvall, whose memory he held close to his heart.

Dawson's unexpected departure leaves an indelible void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was heading home from doing what he loved most when tragedy struck-a poignant reminder of life's unpredictability and the importance of cherishing every moment.

Dawson Michael Powers will be remembered for his infectious smile, his unwavering loyalty to those he loved, and his zest for life. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we echo, and the love we carry in our hearts.

In honor of Dawson's life and spirit, and another of his passions, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the local Little Guy Wrestling Club. This gesture will reflect Dawson's generous heart and his enduring impact on the world.

Dawson's Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, November 6, 2026, at 3 PM at the Tia Kober Gym at Whitehall Schools. The family will begin accepting additional family and friends at 2 PM.
