Stageline Hosting Thanksgiving Dinner

Free of Charge Dinner from 1 to 4 p.m.

Those who are alone or unable to make a dinner on Thanksgiving Day will have a place to enjoy the holiday with a warm meal and a good company.

The Whitehall Stageline Pizza is hosting a free of cost dinner Thanksgiving Day from 1 to 4 p.m. at the restaurant located at 605 W. Legion.

"We've had a great six months since opening and this is a great way to give back to the community and help those in need. Helping other people is what it is all about," owner Tina Bates said.

Tina and her husband Ken had been discussing put on this event on a yearly basis, and since word got out about what they are doing there has been plenty of positive feedback. One week before Thanksgiving, Tina said they have already had three turkeys and other food donated, adding Jefferson County Commissioner Leonard Wortman and his wife have volunteered to help.

Tina said the dinner is also for those who may not have anywhere to go on the holiday.

"It's always to good to be around people on a holiday," she said.

The dinner will be a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, salads and desserts.

Bates said they will also have cards and games out and hopefully people can make some new friends.
