We Are HER Mental Health Scholarships Available

The application for Whitehall-Cardwell based non-profit We Are HER’s Mental Health Scholarship is officially open! Here are some important things to know:

Who is this scholarship for? Survivors over the age of 18 who have demonstrated a financial or economic need, have expressed a desire and willingness to seek therapy from a licensed mental health provider, have not shown or expressed that they are in immediate danger or crisis, and have articulated in their application the specific ways in which winning the scholarship would aid in their healing journey.

What is the time frame for this scholarship? The application is open now through March 27, 2023. Applicants will be notified in April of the status of their application.

How much is the scholarship for? Two survivors will receive scholarships of $1,000.

Is my application confidential? Yes. We never share your information with anyone outside of We Are HER’s selection committee.

Will I have to share my story on the application? You are under no obligation to share any details of your story. It is more important to the selection committee that you demonstrate your need for this scholarship above sharing your story.

What type of mental health professionals qualify if I receive this scholarship? Eligible professionals include licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, licensed mental health counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists if they provide therapy. The provider must possess an active, unrestricted license in the state in which you (the applicant) reside.

The committee also recognizes the potential benefits of seeking therapy from those who may still be in formal, professional training. As such, scholarship funding may also be used to pursue counseling with a professional who is a supervisee in social work, a resident in counseling or psychology, a postdoctoral clinician, or an equivalent title that is registered with their state board to provide clinical mental health services while under the direct supervision of a fully licensed professional.

How will I know if I’ve been selected as the recipient of this scholarship? You will receive an email from info@weareher.net in April 2023.
