Help House the Fairies and the Gnomes!

Perhaps one (or both) of the two articles previously printed in the Ledger has piqued your interest. Or perchance you saw Karen Ranta's "enchanting" display at the fabulous Arbor Day celebration hosted by the Whitehall Garden Club. Maybe that sprinkling of fairy dust has settled in your imagination and you are looking for a creative outlet.

The Enchanted Forest Faire is coming to Whitehall on Saturday, June 24th and the sponsors are encouraging the community to build a home or establishment that a wee or fae creature could inhabit or patronize. Your architectural whimsy will be displayed along a forest path created for the event, which the community will have the opportunity to meander to view your creative efforts.

Still not sure what we are talking about? A display has been set up at the Whitehall Library which hopefully will answer your questions, gel your creative juices, and get you building and crafting. Random Acts of Silliness – a theatre and visual arts organization in the Gallatin Valley – have kindly and generously lent us a copy of the book depicting their 2022 Bumblewood Thicket. This is the fairy village set up in the Glen Lake Rotary Park that inspired a group of Whitehall women – Whimsical Wonders all – to create The Enchanted Forest Faire for their community. The book CAN NOT be checked out of the library but ALL are invited to pore over its detailed photos and read the history of each building while comfortably seated in the library. The book and display will magically disappear after June 24th.

Still have questions – please call Karen Ranta at 406- 439-6919. We really hope you choose to participate. We need your magic to create the enchantment which will bring joy to our community.
