Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Dear Editor: Get to the Whitehall Community Library!

Dear Editor, Residents, Readers, and Educators,

The Whitehall Community Library and Friends of the Whitehall Community Library (FOTWCL) have a fantastic deal for you! The library has recently finished its yearly purge of the circulating collection (the books available for loan) to make room on the shelves for new purchases to that collection. The purged books have been added to the FOTWCL book sale shelves and table in the library basement. These books sell for the ridiculously low price of 10 cents per paperback and 20 cents per hardcover. The money FOTWCL makes from the sale of these books is used to help fund programs and equipment at the library.

Currently, there is an amazing selection of children’s books - board, beginning readers, junior, and young adult - both paperback and hardcover. What could be better than cozying up with your child 30 minutes or longer before lights out (electronics off to promote better sleep) and READING out loud? An aside here - my oldest son was the same age as Harry Potter when the first book in that series was published. I read every one of those books aloud until he graduated high school and moved away to college. While I was never offered a recording deal from Audio Books, I had an opportunity to develop different voices and priceless memories.

No need for children’s books, well what about Montana or Western history? As the volunteer who maintains the books sold by the FOTWCL, I can attest there are close to 100 titles in this category alone. Okay, possibly only 80, as my sources tell me, 19 Montana books were recently purchased. My verbal advertising appears to be working!

Don’t miss this opportunity for amazing deals that support a great cause. Shop early and often! At least come check out what is available for purchase or peruse the FREE table. I am confident there is something for every discerning reader.

DORIE WESTHOVEN,

Whitehall Library Volunteer

Whitehall, Montana
