COUSIN CLEAVON'S REDNECK COOKING: Monkey Brains and Rice

I bet you are scratching your head thinking, where do I find a monkey in Montana? Well...about 15 years ago, I went to a pet store in a larger city up north, and there, in the back, they had monkeys for sale. I never even knew that monkeys could live in this kind of climate, with how cold it is, but there they were. For $300. I took a monkey home, thinking how much fun it was going to be.

Sadly, it was January and the poor thing froze to death when my pick-up broke down and I had to walk five miles.

Not wanting to see my money go completely to waste, I looked up South American recipes and found monkey brains with rice. The rest of the meat I gave to the dogs. Much to my surprise, they were climbing trees and swinging from branches for a couple of days after that.

I believe you can still find monkeys at the shop (it's really a kindness to end their captive lives) or you can order monkey brains online...I think...maybe?

DIRECTIONS:

1. Cook the rice in a pot. I use the finger method. Put the rice in the pot then pour water in until it reaches your knuckle when placing your finger at the bottom of the pot. Better specify how much rice is because the water would be different for 1 cup and one bag.

2. In a bowl, mix up the soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and sesame seeds.

3. In a frying pan, cook the brains until brown, then add the sauce you just made. Let simmer for several minutes.

4. Using a clean plate, place the rice and put the brains on top. Then sprinkle on green onions.

Bon Appetit! PS...these recipes are not verified, but if you give them a try, please let us know how they go!
