JEFFERSON COUNTY: The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder’s Office seeks a qualified person to fill the temporary full-time position of Records Clerk/Election Administrator Assistant for a one-year period. This position may, per county policy, become a permanent position after the one-year period. This position requires the ability to work well with the public and experience with computers and general office work. Experience working in county government is preferred. Position must be able to work overtime during elections and must be able to carry large bags and boxes weighing 35 lbs. or more. This position will be responsible for assisting with all procedures relating to elections and the conduction of elections in accordance with established procedures and the law. This position will further provide backup for all other functions within the Clerk & Recorder’s office, process documents submitted by the public for recording and/or filing accurately and efficiently; this includes: recording, scanning, computerized and manual indexing of records. JEFFERSON COUNTY: The Jefferson County Solid Waste District is seeking a truck driver to operate a tractor-trailer with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds GVW according to established safety procedures and applicable rules and laws. This includes loading vehicles and delivering solid waste to the landfill, removing debris, and operating related mechanical equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and loaders. Position may be required to unload transfer boxes and perform technical and labor duties and may work in extreme temperatures. There is a varying work schedule, and position may work weekends or holidays. Position requires a commercial Class A Type 2 driver’s license; however, a Class B may be considered. Must be able to perform manual labor and lift 75 pounds. Salary is $26.72 DOQ/E.
