    After a lengthy discussion, the Whitehall Town Council voted 3-2 last Tuesday to hire Ron Noe as a third public works employee. Council members Logan Reiff and Shawn Hoagland voted in approval of the hiring, and members Gary Housman and Katy James voted against. Mayor Mary Janacaro Hensleigh was the deciding yes vote for the approval. Council members Roy McBride and Francine Giono were absent from the meeting.   • Cantata rehearsals begin November 3

    It's once again time for the Whitehall area community to gather again to rehearse for the annual Community Christmas Cantata. Rehearsals will begin for the 2019 Cantata on Sunday, November 3 at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church located at 108 1st St. E in Whitehall.     The Whitehall High School volleyball team picked up arguably their biggest win of the season last Tuesday with a thrilling five set home victory over rival Jefferson High School.     The Whitehall/Harrison High School football team shined in all three phases of the game and picked up their first conference win of the season with a 29-6 road win last Friday at Three Forks. The Trojans scored on their first possession of the game on a pass from freshman Miles Hoerauf to Flint Smith and took a 7-0 lead with 9:05 left in the opening quarter.
