Summer Feeding started this week, and the food is better than ever at the Whitehall Community Library! We are even going to get pizza this summer! Summer Feeding is a library partnership with Action, INC. in Butte and the Friends of the Whitehall Community Library. Lunches are free to anyone 18 and younger from 11 AM- 1 PM, Monday through Thursday. There is no paperwork to fill out and the lunches have a hot entrée 90% of the time. The Montana Department of Corrections said Tuesday that it is considering three localities — Hardin, Butte, and the greater Boulder area — to determine where to site a new women’s prison. Hunters can now sign up for the Surplus List, which includes leftover licenses not distributed by the drawing. The list will be randomized, and hunters at the top will be emailed instructions to finalize their purchase within a specified time. Measles is spreading in Montana. As of June 2, the state has 15 confirmed cases. Two of these individuals were hospitalized due to serious illness. From April 17 to May 5, Gallatin County Public Health reported eight cases. Over the past week, Gallatin County confirmed two new cases, Hill County reported three cases, and Flathead County reported its second case.
