    The 33rd annual Montana Mule Days is coming to Whitehall. A presentation of the Montana Longears Association, the popular family-friendly event is scheduled to take place June 9-11 at the Whitehall Rodeo Grounds. It is Montana's only mule and donkey show.     Five eighth grade graduates took their places on the platform at the Cardwell Gym to be honored for the completion of nine years of learning. The graduating students were Katie Whitehurst, Marta Nelson, Anna Nelson, Wyatt Biggers and Brodie Becker. Wyatt Biggers was the only one of the five that was a student at Cardwell all nine years.     Hi Folks, We didn’t have our regular afternoon meeting on Tuesday last week. We did meet with the Road Supervisor and as the Solid Waste Board. We had been talking about holding several Public meetings early this summer to talk about the possibility of raising rates or changing some of the operation of the Solid Waste District.     Hi Folks, We held last week’s meeting at Bordon’s in Whitehall. We approved the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan for Jefferson County. DES Coordinator, Doug Dodge has done a lot of work on this and has involved folks from all over the County. We held the final Public Hearing before we decide whether to put the creation of the Ambulance District on the ballot later this year.     The Jefferson County Commission will decide later this month if local residents will have an opportunity to vote for or against the creation of the Jefferson Valley Rural Ambulance District.     It was an unusually brief regular meeting Monday night for the Whitehall Town Council. The Council concluded the majority of their regular monthly meeting in a little over 30 minutes before adjourning into executive session.     Officials at Barrick Golden Sunlight mine are expecting to be on target for production in the second quarter of 2017. At the Community Transition Advisory Committee meeting last Thursday, Mine General Manager Dan Banghart reported the production in April was 3,054 ounces, slightly ahead of the target of 3,000. He said they really need to be in the 4,000-ounce range, but had a shorter mill run last month. He said in May and June the mill runs will be longer to get them back on track.
