    Democrat Edith (Edie) McClafferty of Butte won the race for the open seat in Montana Senate District 38. McClafferty defeated Republican Glenn J. Rosenbaum by a vote of 6,063 to 5,236. The November 9 issue of the Whitehall Ledger did not have the vote listed outside of Jefferson County.     The 2012 approved Noxious Weed Mill Levy is due to sunset in June of 2017. According to Jefferson County Weed and Mosquito Coordinator Jill Allen, the mill levy being proposed on the November 8 ballot will be a continuation of the existing mill to maintain what is currently operating the herbicide cost-share program.     The production in September was well above the anticipated target at the Barrick Golden Sunlight Mine. During his monthly update at the Community Transition Advisory Committee meeting, Mine General Manager Dan Banghart said the production for the month was 4,400 ounces, above the target of 3,700.
