The Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department responded to two truck fires last week. On Saturday morning, the department sent a total of four trucks to a semi truck fire on Interstate 90. The Whitehall governing body voted Monday to move town offices and public works operations to the former ambulance barn located at 207 E. Legion. The Council voted 4-1 to approve the measure. Voters in Jefferson County approved Tuesday a ballot measure that will permanently increase tax liability to generate an estimated $29,485 per year for the Jefferson Valley Search and Rescue in and the Elkhorn Search and Rescue. In June of 2017, over 1,000 spectators made their way through the gates at the Montana Mule Days at the Rodeo Grounds in Whitehall. The Friday before Memorial Day, the fourth grade class of Donna Loomis made their way to the Whitehall Cemetery to place United States Flags at the graves of Veterans.
