The Whitehall Veterans Gun Show will once again take up residence in the Whitehall Community Center from Friday, September 11, to Sunday, September 13. This annual fall gun show is open to the public, with all net profits donated to the Whitehall VFW and American Legion. The show is held at the Whitehall Community Center, located at 11 N. Division. Daniel Allen Glover, aka Dan or Danny, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on August 26, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on May 18, 1950, in Polson, Montana, Dan lived a life defined by love, laughter, and an unshakable devotion to his family. One of the major attractions at the Whitehall Fall Arts and Crafts Festival, and a highlight of the arrival of the toughest train, is the Whitehall Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Murals. Jefferson County is seeking public input through a community survey to help guide updates to the County's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The survey will remain open through September 30, 2026, and will help identify priorities for recreation, emergency response, and other infrastructure investments throughout the county. Daily fishing restrictions, commonly known as hoot-owl restrictions, have been lifted for the Madison River upstream of Hebgen Reservoir with cooling water temperatures. A hoot-owl restriction remains in effect on the lower Madison River from the Bureau of Land Management’s Warm Springs boat launch to the confluence with the Jefferson River.
